What’s New

Fall 2011 is a great season for fashion.  Influences from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s are all seen in this season’s clothing, shoes and accessories.

Fall footwear is going in two directions – one very traditional and the other very playful.

The traditional style is heavily influenced by the trends of the 50’s and 60’s.  We are seeing loafers and mary-janes, but with great additions like heels, wedges, platforms and embellishments that make these classics fresh, feminine and fun for Fall.  These shoes look great with this season’s pencil skirts, skinny jeans, and men’s wear inspired trousers.

The playful trend is seen in boot form – and boots are hot this season!

The granny boot has resurfaced, and is sexier than ever.  The granny boot has been embellished with fur, hardware and decorating stitching.  Classic riding boots and cowboy boots adorned the runways paired with jeggings, ponchos and capes.  Boot lengths range from ankle-length to knee-high, so there is truly a boot to please everyone this season.

And let’s not forget winter boots in Michigan.  Great fashion forward companies like EMU and Cougar are bringing us winter boots that are functional, waterproof, and fashionable.  Lengths vary from ankle-high to over-the-knee, and look great with short & long skirts and skinny jeans.  Add a long oversized sweater, hat and mittens for a complete look.
